Barwacz Pizza Kitchen

So lately we've been really missing some good Chicago-style pizza. While there are many people down here that have recommended this place or that for "excellent pizza", none of them have satisfied us. So we decided, if we can't go out for great pizza, lets try to make our own....and that's exactly what we did. However, our version of pizza was more of a California-style pizza. We got ahold of a pizza crust recipe that came with the instruction manual for our Cuisinart food processor, and then headed out to the grocery store to get our toppings: fresh mozzerella, alfredo sauce, garlic, roma tomatoes, green pepper, portabello mushroom, black olives, red onion, and fresh basil. Put it all together for 10 min. at 500F and you have one superb pizza. (let me say this was a vast improvement over the burnt meat pie that Chris attempted to "brown" last night).

Mmmmm, mmmm, mmmm, mmmm, mmm....toasty!

The Digs in Dallas

Since you've all been dying to see our place and since none of you will probably take the time to visit us, (not that we can blame you since this is Texas) here's the digs. The place is great except for the cricket that disrupts our sleep at 3am. Jiminy lives in the vent in our bedroom and torments us with his ithcy legs. We've tried athletes foot powder and it doesn't seem to work....hmmm...maybe we need some insecticide...

By the way, the great works of art on the walls are Chrimily originals. Designed by ourselves, for ourselves. A little wood and a little fabric and voila, art.

Sweet Dreams

The quest for the perfect bedroom set has come to an end! In the hot and mugginess that is Dallas we often find ourselves searching for things to do indoors. (...and not what you're thinking, Bruce). So, one day we came across a shopping center in Highland Park. We noticed some of our favorite stores (i.e. Crate and Barrel and Restoration Hardware) so we ventured in to see what we could find. Now, to go back a couple of years Chris and I have been on the lookout for the perfect bedroom set for a future home. We love to go to stores and search through the furniture section hoping to find that item that makes us say "how much and when can you deliver?" Every time we end up disappointed at the lack of our perfect set. Until NOW!

Out of nowhere, the linens parted, the lighting glowed and our sweet dreams of a perfect bed called to me from the other side of Restoration Hardware. The polished gleam of the Portman Bedroom collection caught my eye and I could hardly contain myself as I pulled Chris across the floor to quite possibly the most perfect thing made from wood. The Chestnut coloring was perfect, the lines smooth and classic. We looked at each other and collectively said "this is it!" Now the only problem is we can't ask the question "how much and when can you deliver?" since, quite frankly we don't have the room to deliver to. Oh, but my crafty mind was not to be disappointed. We asked the saleslady how long the collection would be around and we were told it was a classic and would be around for many years. Hallelujah! So, now we just need the master bedroom in the future home of our dreams in which to put it. Be that as it may, their website is book marked on our computer and I'll be checking it weekly to make sure they're carrying it and if they stop, we'll set it up in the living room if we have to. Now on to the home search...

Random thoughts for the day

My random thought for the day is regarding boobs and speedos. Never in your life will you ever see so many large breasted, blonde haired "beauties" as you'd see in Texas. We've come to enjoy playing the game of real or fake. This entails sitting in the pool at our apartment and guessing as to the "nature" of women's breasts. Finally I tell Chris, if you have to ask, they're fake. Then of course you have the "men." Men who quite possible wish they were women. I never again want to live in a place where speedos are common place at a public pool, nor where men are better shaved than women. But, I suppose the positive thing is that you don't have to worry about the men at the pool hitting on you (well, I guess Chris might have to worry a little.)
